This Saturday, we were very blessed indeed. We walked the streets, next to the Salt Lake Temple and found many people that were willing to talk. I met this wonderful man that was so open to the gospel. He hadn’t heard the good news of Jesus Christ but was grateful to know about it now. Though he was lost, he desired something greater in life. As I spoke about the cross, something amazing happened inside his heart. As he was looking at me, he was almost in tears. You could see his life turning to follow Jesus. This man was open and the Holy Spirit did the rest. I asked if he desired to come to know Jesus and he said yes. So I mentioned reading the Bible, in order to know His teachings and abide in him. I mentioned how important it is to discover the Lord for ourselves in the Bible and prayer daily. I didn’t have a Bible with me but helped him download a Bible app for his phone. After we prayed, he was so excited to start this new journey. Praise the Lord.
I also met another young guy that was super friendly. The moment I met him, he was so comfortable to be around. It was like God had prepared him in my path. It was amazing sharing the gospel with him. It was sad to hear that he had been kicked out of the Mormon faith for a sin he had committed. 4Jesus doesn’t “call the righteous, but the sinner to repentance”. 3He doesn’t cast the sinner away but asks them to come to Him. All those that come to Jesus, He would never turn away. I told him that Jesus loves him so much. That he would welcome him home, any time or day. I also told him that many churches wouldn’t cast him away either but welcome him in. None of us are perfect but all need God’s forgiveness. 2He was grateful that I wasn’t judging him for his wrong doings. What was so most amazing, was his desire to take additional gospel tracts and devotional cards to pass out. So I handed him about five each. He also friended me on Facebook to stay in touch. Praise God.
Soon after meeting this man, I met this sweet lady. She was so humble to hear the gospel. She was also so excited to meet us. She loved that we were out sharing the good news about Jesus Christ with others. When she was asked for prayer she jumped at the opportunity. In prayer, it was like God was hugging us both. After talking, she also wanted gospel tracts and devotional cards to pass out to others. She even wanted us to sign them, in order to not forget us. Me and Keven will never forget how kind she was towards us. This night, something amazing happened that has never happened before. Two different people wanted additional gospel tracts to pass out to others. Praise the Lord. Later that evening, we got some homeless packs to pass out. So on our way to the car we found a homeless man that was very grateful to receive it. On that walk, we asked several sister missionaries if they had time to talk and answer any of our questions and they each said no. They couldn’t make time for us. That was too bad.
On our way home, that evening in Ogden, we went into the city to look for another homeless person, in order to give out the last homeless pack. As we were driving we noticed a group of people looking for haunted houses. They were telling each other ghost stories. After seeing this in action, we parked our car and rebuked them in the name of Jesus. We told them that ghosts are evil spirits and not to get into that stuff. 1“These things are an abomination unto the Lord”. Seeking and calling the dead is satanic in nature. One person said he was Christian and I told him that he wouldn’t be there if he was. After leaving them, we were led to a group of homeless people. There, we were able to give them each water and a homeless pack. Most of them also received a “Gospel of John” booklet and some tracts. It was wonderful sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Praise the Lord.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for this most beautiful day. We met so many people with open hearts and I know it is all because of You. You led the way. You opened the doors that the gospel could be shared. Thank You for using us this day to do Your will. I am grateful for all the people we talked to. I am in awe at the number of people that re-committed to follow You. What an amazing day to be in Your harvest. Oh how blessed was it to be in Your service. I trust in You, Jesus. I know that lives change when hearts are open to Your message. Thank You for opening our mouths this day. We owe it all to You. I pray that these men and women, that we met will be strengthened in Your Holy Spirit. Lead them. Guide them. Light up their paths that all darkness may be scattered. I believe in You. I love You. Amen.
Let us read the Bible:
