When People Don’t Want To Hear They Have Sinned

In 2 Chronicles 16, it mentioned how King Asa relied on the king of Syria to help him win the war, by offering him silver and gold, which he accepted. However, this was apart from relying on God, which is why he sinned. So God sent Hanani, a seer, to speak to him about this important matter. It was written, “at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the Lord thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand. Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the Lord, he delivered them into thine hand. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.” (2 Chronicles 16:7-10) My friends, what was told to Asa was true about him not relying on God to deliver Him. And because his heart was not right with God, anger took hold of him instead of admitting that he was wrong. He even put a man of God in prison, which is crazy since the previous chapter mentions that Asa’s heart was for God. However, you will see this in our time as well. Where it takes a lot for certain people to humble themselves before God in repentance. However, it would’ve been better for Asa and many people now to just admit their faults to each other and God. As for me, I am one to admit my faults, for tomorrow is not promised.

Many people do not like to hear people say that they have done something wrong, especially when it comes to God. Normally, it makes people upset, until they finally pray about it also and see what has been said from God Himself. Issues can come by the way a person is talking about Jesus, how they are teaching from the Bible, or how people are singing in church. These are just a few things that people do not want to hear about, even if we are seeing something very wrong. For example, I’ve had a friend tell people that there are other ways to heaven outside Jesus and that He is not God. When trying to talk to Him about this and even using the Bible to help Him understand that Jesus is the only to heaven through John 14:6, it didn’t matter. It also didn’t help when I said that in John 1:1, Jesus is God. He got more upset because of this. I’ve also seen pastors in church speak about movies they are watching like James Bond and speaking on it and the weapons the actor used for over 10 minutes in the sermon. However, trying to message him about this, I got no response. Even when the worship leader was singing NSync in church, I got no message about this also. The same happens when we talk to people about their beliefs or tell them about their sins. They get angry, instead of confessing their sins to God. You see, when people are not humble, they normally don’t want to hear things that they are doing wrong. However, this will always come back to bite them later in judgment if they do not repent of such things. As for me, If I am ever am wrong about something, I am happy to admit that I was wrong. It is better for me to change my life now, then to have no chance after death. I still have the blood of Jesus to cover my sins, but will not have this chance later.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, may more people humble themselves before You now, so that they do not have to face what they have done wrong in judgment. It would be terrible for people in the faith to die and to be cast into the lake of fire, just because they did not want to hear another person out about their faults, that they are doing wrong. Surely, You do send messengers into each of our lives, in order to warn us about our current lifestyle or belief system, that we may repent. It is just up to the person to humble themselves before You and listen. I know that for many years I was defiant and did not care to know the truth of God outside of Mormonism. I simply bore my testimony of that church being true, instead of listening to what good Christians had to say to me. My eyes and ears were closed off to you, so it appeared to me that people were making fun of my religion, but really it was a warning from You, God. Oh, how wrong I was to not listen to people, back when I had a chance. However, You gave me many more chances that I did not deserve and kept speaking to my heart, even about my sinful life. You did not want me to perish in my unbelief and in my sins. So I began to pray and You came to my rescue. My eyes and ears were finally opened and I left that false religion behind, in order to follow You completely. Even my addiction to pornography was destroyed from my life, because of Your mighty hand. Surely, Satan had a stronghold upon me, which caused me to be angry when people called out my unbelief and sins. However, because I am set free, I welcome everything a person has to say about me now. If I am wrong, let it be said, that I may repent of those sins and be cleansed by Your blood. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
