Friday Night Evangelizing (04/20/18)

Tonight, before I went out evangelizing, I was very tired but knew in my heart that God could breathe life into my soul. And he did so in big way. After driving to downtown Boise, there was all this renewed energy within me. After parking, I walked to the District Coffee Shop and met up with Chris. It was then, that we went in the upper room and began to read from 1Revelation 3. It was an amazing discussion. We then prayed for the night at hand. That the Lord would use us in a big way. That we could reach the lost and those that go to church, but are lukewarm. That they would see the love of Christ in us, in our interactions with them. We did not want anyone to see us as judgmental people but someone who truly cares for the salvation of their souls. It was a powerful prayer and I know that the Lord was there. We started the night off with meeting up with a homeless lady, in a wheel chair. Immediately after saying hi to her, Chris went off and got her some pizza and a drink. That was so kind of him. I then stayed behind and talked with her as he got the food and drink. She was so pleasant to talk with. Though, I was not able to speak much about Jesus, I was able to love on her. Before leaving her, I encouraged her to pray and find a good church.

We then started walking the streets. In the process, we talked with many young adults about an upcoming Christian Concert at Calvary Chapel (May 4th). Many people were interested. We also passed out many gospel tracks about God’s love for them and so many were receptive. We continued to walk and met up with a familiar lady from church that was going through hard times. She told us that she had been in a few different homes recently because of different problems. You could tell it was very difficult for her. As she was telling us her story, I knew that the Lord could help her. As these thoughts came into my mind, Chris asked if we could pray with her, which she accepted. It was a wonderful time to commune with the Lord in prayer. To just pray for his help was amazing. I also pray that the Lord will help her through her struggles and bring peace to her heart. God be praised for her continued faith in God, though things are difficult. We continued walking and met up with some friends of ours. It was good to see one of them also passing out gospel tracks. It is amazing to see others also doing God’s work. We need more people like him, that are willing to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, with others. At this point, it was getting late and we both agreed that we should start heading back to our cars and call it a night.

On our walk back, I met up with this lady and her boyfriend and or husband, at this crosswalk, and asked them if they knew about Jesus. She said yes, but the man said no. I told her, as she walked by, to never lose that faith, because through Jesus died on the cross, our sins can be forgiven. She said, “thank you so much”, as she continued walking. It was then that I asked this man, sitting at a pizza place, if he wanted a gospel track on Jesus. He said, yes, “I love Jesus”. He then wanted to talk with us, to see what we were up to. I went ahead and told him that our desire is to share the love of Jesus with everyone. That we didn’t get paid but were out here because of our faith in God. He loved it that we weren’t out there to judge anyone. He said his Mormon family was like this. They’ve given him a hard time since leaving the church. I told him that I also left and found Christ. That there were things in that Church that were very disturbing. The Mormon church relies on Joseph Smith’s first vision and it alone has four different versions. Also, Joseph changed the KJV Bible 3410 times, 2when the Bible specifically says to not add or take away from it. No prophet of God would do this. Before leaving, Chris also talked to them about God and it went so well. It was amazing to share the gospel with them. God be praised.

Let us pray:
Thank You Lord for using Chris and I this night. You answered our prayers and were the light that shone brightly, this evening. Each person we talked to was a divine experience. The moment we spoke with the lady in the wheel chair, your love came out of us and into her life. You then led us to the lady from church, and I immediately sensed the spirit of God was there. As I spoke with the couple at the crosswalk, it was you that gave me the words to speak to them. The last people we met, the words we spoke came so easily for You were there. These experiences were prepared from the beginning of time. You allowed these things to come to pass, because of your great love for them. I am grateful that You were able to use us to reach them. Though I was tired, I had renewed energy this night. Everything went as planned because we were both willing to do Your work. I know Lord, that You are my Savior. You are the rock of my salvation. I pray that these people, we talked to, are blessed. That these seeds will sprout up, and that the You will continue to water them. Thank You Lord. I love You. Amen.

1Revelation 3:14-22 (KJV)
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

2Revelation 22:18,19 (KJV)
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
