Who Do You Follow?

Who do you say you are? Are you of Christ? Do you call yourself His or something else? Many times, I’ve tried to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with people and they tell me they are OK. Some say, I am Catholic, I am Mormon, and others say, I am Baptist. To proclaim that you are part of a church organization means nothing in the sight of God. What is sad is that so many people believe that they are saved by going to church on the weekend. They think that calling themselves members of their church is meaningful to God. This cannot be the furthest from the truth. If your faith is in men’s words above the Lord God then your faith is dead. This foundation is broken since it is not on the foundation of Christ. 1You are not born again until you have built a relationship with Jesus. A belief in Jesus Christ, our Savior, is life changing. Our walk with Him, will do marvelous things in our lives and the lives of others. If you have not committed your life to follow Jesus but to a church only, make things right today. Confess your sins that they may be forgiven. May the blood of Jesus cleanse you from all unrighteousness. If the Lord has done a mighty work in your life, God be praised. When a person shares the gospel with you, receive it gladly. Be grateful that people are proclaiming the truth of God with the lost. As Christians, fellowship with others in the faith.

Paul taught about people being divided in the faith. Some would say to him, 2“I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.” There were many people that only agreed on the teachings of specific men, including, only Jesus’s words. They didn’t count all the teachings of the disciples and Jesus as a time to learn and grow. These people were not of one heart. They did not all agree on coming into the unity of the faith in Christ Jesus. Paul taught, 4“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” It is most important that we learn and grow in Christ Jesus. A church building is good to attend if it is founded on Biblical teachings. However, we must also develop our own relationship with the Lord outside of worship service at church. Come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in your own home. There is no other way to heaven. 3“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” I encourage you all to read the Bible daily. Pray often. Make God a priority in your daily life. Develop a Christian walk by following the teachings of God, through His Word. Be encouraged by others in the faith. Don’t ever feel like you are better than them but are all equal. God loves His children all the same.

Let us pray:
Lord, I am grateful to know You. You are the light that guides me. You are the rock of my foundation. I am Yours. Help those that are confused in the faith. Help them understand that a church building doesn’t save us. Help them understand that calling themselves a member of their church has no meaning. Help them discover true joy in Your presence. Only You Lord saves and I worry about the hearts of people that say they are Christian but don’t know You. They go to church but don’t seek to know You through reading the Bible daily. Open people’s eyes to understand the gravity of this lifestyle. I know that a life without You is meaningless but a life with You is meaningful. I cherish every minute I have to be with You. You are my Savior and none else. I trust in You above all. You are mine and I am Yours. I love You. Amen.

1John 3:1-7 (KJV)
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

21 Corinthians 1:11-23 (KJV)
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

31 Corinthians 3:1-11 (KJV)
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

4Ephesians 4:7-15 (KJV)
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
