The Mormon Church discourages the use of the label “Mormon” even though every prophet until Russell M. Nelson proudly proclaimed they were Mormons.
Mormons were ever taught that Joseph Smith used an occultic seer stone in a hat to “translate” the Book of Mormon. Instead, they were always shown pictures of the process using “urim and thummim” spectacles with stones in them –with no seer stone in a hat in sight!
The second Mormon “prophet,” Brigham Young, declared that God gave him a direct revelation that Adam was God! This doctrine was preached in Mormon temples for many years as part of their endowment ceremony.
Mormons mistakenly believe that God’s name is “Elohim” and that Jesus’ name in the Old Testament is “Jehovah.” And that Jehovah/Jesus (and not God) is the only Savior.
The Book of Mormon claims Lehi, his family and the Nephites kept the laws of Moses. However, how they kept the feast days of the Torah in the BoM reveal that they actually broke Torah.
Joseph Smith taught that the Son is the Father, and the Father is the Son. This is seen in his change to Luke, chapter 10, verse 22, in the JST.
Mormons claim that they will build the New Jerusalem. This was taught by Joseph Smith. Unfortunately, it is a false teaching.
