It is true that Mormons believe in everything that Joseph Smith taught. And here are just a few of his false teachings on many gods. “Hence, the doctrine of a plurality of Gods is as prominent in the Bible as any other doctrine. It is all over the face of the Bible . . . Paul says there are Gods many and Lords many . . . but to us there is but one God–that is pertaining to us; and he is in all and through all,” (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 474). “In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it,” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 5). So he is agreeing with what the idolaters believed in, which are many gods and lords. Wow! This is surely what happens when people twist the Bible to conform to their own beliefs. As you can see, he said that there was a council of gods in the beginning, which is blasphemy to God’s Word. And now it is a common belief in Mormonism that they will one day become a god for themselves. And after reaching their celestial glory in heaven, men will be given over to many wives, in order to procreate their own planet, much like they say our Father in heaven did. These are all false teachings and not Biblically sound at all. And what is sad is that in Mormonism there could even be more gods than in Hinduism, because of their thinking. Wow, oh wow. I pray that these people, who are blinded in that cult, will one day repent, leave Mormonism, and surrender their lives to Jesus.
I often wonder why any person could believe in the Mormon faith after truly studying the Bible. Even in the first commandment of God, it reads, “thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3) This means that we should not believe in any gods, or even make ourselves out to be gods either. If we are believers in God and the Bible is true, then we would believe it when it says, “Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.” (Isaiah 44:8) “I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me.” (Isaiah 45:5) As Paul said, to every idolater, “there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many.” (1 Corinthians 8:5) However, to those who believe in the one true God, it reads, “but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:6) So the point here is that there is one God. There may be three persons, namely the Father (who is spirit), Jesus (who has a body of flesh and bones), and the Holy Spirit ( who is spirit). These three are one God in three persons, which is called the trinity. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7) So again, Christians believe in one true God, but Mormons believe in many gods, which goes against God’s first commandment, and also what He said all through the Bible. May they come out of this idolatry in Jesus’s Name.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will remove the blinders off of every Mormon person’s eyes. That they will begin to learn from Your hand and not by corrupt men any longer. There are many false beliefs in Mormonism, especially with their belief in many gods, which I cannot stand. Surely, this is such a terrible belief, for it is the same thing that Satan wanted from the beginning. Just like he wanted to be elevated to godhood, but then was cast down to the earth, now he wants his followers to think the same thing. Anything he can do to make a person believe they are on Your side but really are not is a part of his evil schemes. So Lord, break these chains of darkness in every person in that cult. I love the Mormons but cannot stand to think that they are on the pathway to hell because of their false gospel, teachings, and idolatry in their church. How can they continue to believe in what their false prophets and teachers are telling them and still feel good about themselves? Are they not reading the Bible, in order to fact check what people have said? We cannot believe everything a person says, for it could very well be blasphemy to Your Words. So, God, I know that most of my family are Mormon and that they are very lost in that faith. I love to visit and spend time with them, but in my heart, I wish they would be open to hearing and learning the truth of the gospel before it is too late. Would You please make a way for me and others to reach them? I know that even among my siblings are among your elect few, who are able to hear the true gospel message of the Bible and be saved through Your blood Jesus. Make this so Lord. I believe in You. I trust in You. Amen.
