The Lord is righteous and the heavens declare it. Every person can see the glory of God by way of His creation, and so many other things, especially when the Holy Spirit is in our lives. Those who believe in and serve other gods are confounded. The true God of Israel is not with them. Giving praise and worship to a man, woman, saint, Mary, angels, or idols is not permitted. These idolaters will face Jesus in His wrath come judgment day. Some even praise Joseph Smith in song, which is idolatry on full display. If we are in Christ, then we worship God, and God alone. We are made glad through our faith in HIm, and we know His judgments are good. David said, “the heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.” (Psalm 97:6-8) Study out what David said and consider the issues with erecting statues of people. This is a form of idolatry that Christians are against. Bow down to Jesus and give up every form of idolatry for His sake, including praying and worshipping anything but God.
The Lord, our God, is lifted up and exalted. Other gods are man-made and cannot do anything to help us but lead us down a dark and destructive path. If we love God, then we hate every form of evil. The Lord is the one who preserves us and keeps our faith strong. We have the power to resist temptation and are delivered out of the hands of the wicked because God is with us. The light of the Lord is in us and we are made different. If we are glad, Jesus is with us. Rejoice all ye people and give thanks to Jesus, our God, and Savior. Lastly, David wrote, “for thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness” (Psalm 97:9-12) Now, allow the Lord to work in your lives. Give up every form of idolatry, even if it causes you to not conform to what other people are doing in your local church. The Lord can change us from within, and give us desires to worship Him alone. We are then able to live for Him. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, You are so good to us. Thank You for trusting us with Your kingdom on earth. Although You have not been on earth for the last two thousand years, Your Spirit has been among us. God, our hearts are open to receive You and Your truth, no matter what the consequences may be. If it is a way of life that we need to get rid of for Your sake, we are willing to do it. I am speaking of beliefs that are false and anything that relates to idolatry. Idols only lead us on paths that are dark and destructive. I could see this in my life when I was growing up and I am happy that You rescued me from a cult that gives praise to a man, while also erecting statues in his honor. God, many of these people think that this is harmless, although the Holy Spirit speaks against it. Even now, there are people praying to Mary, angels, saints, Buddha, and other false gods, which is so destructive. Do these people not realize that by doing this, they are opening up their lives to evil spirits? God, break them free. I believe in You, Jesus. I trust in You, God. I love You. Amen.
Catholicism is rich in the veneration of relics as well as trusting in the Virgin Mary. They pray to her, believing that she will influence her son on our behalf. Lots of superstition in Catholicism.
