Book Of Mormon Plagiarism: Mosiah 14:9

In Isaiah, chapter 53, we learn about Jesus being put to death for our sins.  How He would suffer in order for our transgressions to be forgiven.  This whole chapter is beautiful in every sense of the word.  However, those who do not know God would like to change God’s Words to fit their beliefs.  Even one word from its original translation would be absolutely terrible.  This one word in this chapter of Isaiah is violence.  This word means to physically be involved with hurting, damaging, or killing someone or something.  Now, when it comes to Jesus, He was perfect in every way.  Therefore, He was not capable of doing such things.  Speaking of the Lord, it is written, “8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.” (Isaiah 53:8-10) Isn’t the Bible being read in its purity so refreshing?  It sure is.  Praise God!

As for Mosiah, chapter 14, Joseph Smith copied and pasted the verses from Isaiah, chapter 53.  However, he made one blunder, which was changing the word “violence” to “evil“.  Speaking of doing evil, it means people who are immoral and or wicked.  Being violent is an attribute to being evil, but they are entirely different words and would never be interchanged.  Also, if you look at the “word-for-word” translations, they all say “violence” and none say “evil“.   Therefore, we know what happened in Mosiah.  An important word was purposely taken out in order to replace it with what Joseph thought was better.  Now, look at what he did.  “8 He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgressions of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no evil, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief; when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.” (Mosiah 14:8-10) Christians can see the issue here and also declare that Joseph Smith is suffering in hell because of this.  Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will begin to work with more people all across the globe. Your kingdom is ripe for the harvest, but only a few are laborers. People can talk the talk at church, but why aren’t people living it out on a daily basis? What I want to see and experience is a revival for Your Words in the Bible and for doing Your will as it is in heaven. There is a drought when it comes to knowing You and Your words. People think they know You by what others have taught them, but those who read the Bible daily can see the truth in its pure form. This does take You casting out of our lives every false belief, that we may know and live by what is true alone. For many people, this is very difficult. Leaving a cult behind could mean divorce, losing friends, family, and even jobs at times. Our whole life could change just by submitting ourselves to You. This is what I desire, Lord. I have given my life to You and am filled with the Holy Spirit. You have been guiding me these many years to reach the lost. Thank You for leading me to Sean, of whom, we now go out door to door in order to reach people for the gospel. Help us bring more people to You, Jesus, as we go out once again tomorrow. May there be much fruit and even salvations at people’s doors. I love You, Jesus. Have Your way in my life. Amen.
