A huge mistake that the Mormon Church has made was to teach that David, the son of Jesse and king, is unsaved. See this false teaching for yourself in the following verse from their Doctrine And Covenants, chapter 132. It reads, “David’s wives and concubines were given unto him of me, by the hand of Nathan, my servant, and others of the prophets who had the keys of this power; and in none of these things did he sin against me save in the case of Uriah and his wife; and, therefore he hath fallen from his exaltation, and received his portion; and he shall not inherit them out of the world, for I gave them unto another, saith the Lord.” (Doctrine and Covenants 132:39) Hence we hear that David fell from his exaltation. How interesting since the Bible says an entirely different story. Speaking of the sin where David had sexual relations with Bathsheba while having her husband Uriah killed, in order to have her as his wife, is written about below. “And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.” (2 Samuel 12:13) When God puts away our sins, that means we are forgiven. He has washed us clean and we have nothing more to worry about, other than fear itself. God is so merciful to those who call upon His Name.
There are many reasons why God forgave David, even though he was involved in murder and adultery. This is because He came humbly before God and confessed His sins. David said, “have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” (Psalm 51:1-4) This is in line with what John said about forgiveness. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) Paul also spoke about David and said, “and when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.” (Acts 13:22) If we are known to be a person after God’s own heart this means we are saved. What is in the past can stay in the past, for God’s mercy is upon us. Can you now see the contradiction with what the Mormon Church says about David?
In this Mormon publication, Doctrine and Covenants, Abraham’s concubines were accounted until him for righteousness, not simply his faith in God. Same with Isaac and Jacob. Therefore, they have entered into exaltation and are now gods. This is utter blasphemy to God. See below for details… “Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children; and it was accounted unto him for righteousness, because they were given unto him, and he abode in my law; as Isaac also and Jacob did none other things than that which they were commanded; and because they did none other things than that which they were commanded, they have entered into their exaltation, according to the promises, and sit upon thrones, and are not angels but are gods.” (Doctrine and Covenants 132:37) If only Mormons knew about the sanctity of marriage between one husband and one wife, then this teaching would not exist. And plural marriage is not even the worst of what I just quoted. The teaching on exaltation to godhood is being taught. It is as if the LDS people have not read the Bible where it says there is only one God. But I’ll leave it with that. It is written, “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.” (Isaiah 44:8) Let these words speak true to your heart and your mind. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will come unto You and also hear Your voice in this lifetime. It may not be an audible voice, but a voice from the inside that helps us know Your will and also abide in it. I love the example of David, where he was a man after God’s own heart. This is seen in the book of Psalm, where every song and prayer is a confession of sin, asking for mercy, giving You praise, giving us guidance in this wicked world, and much more. You gave wisdom unto David throughout his lifetime like unto his son Solomon. He is a great example to all Your saints. We know, God, that we will not be perfect and fall into diverse sins, but the moment we call upon Your Name for mercy, there is forgiveness. You know when our heart is sincere, meaning we have no more desire to do the same thing again. And I am grateful to have Your strength with me, which gives me the power to resist temptation. Surely, my flesh is weak, but You make me strong to resist every form of evil in this wicked world. Men know that women can cause them to fall into adultery because of their beauty. But thank God, for You building us up in Your armor. This way we don’t get feelings like we cannot control the situation. You are my God, Jesus, and to abide in Your presence is all I desire. I love You, Lord. Be always with me. Amen.
Thank you for pointing that out.
How convenient…JS wants more wives. So, he adds comments to D&C to make having even concubines “legal” in God’s eyes. Is there any end of manipulation to this man?
