Temples: When You Realize You Are In A Cult

The moment that you realize you are in a cult everything changes. This happens every day when new Mormon members enter the Mormon temple for the first time.  This is when they notice immediately that what is happening inside is not Biblical but man-made.  They begin to hear people speaking about a new name, learning different secret handshakes, and making special oaths and covenants to God.  But they are told this is so sacred that nobody can ever know about the oaths and handshakes.  It is a secret.  All this they hear and wonder about while going through different temple rituals, while wondering why God make this a secret.  Then they realize that it is a corporation and only people who pay their 10% dues can enter.  Only then can they learn the secret oaths, handshakes, and more, although realizing none of this is of God.  The ways of God are open to everyone and not kept secret.  So what are people doing here?   Devout Mormons don’t see a problem with keeping things a secret.   And they say they are not in a cult? Wow!  Here is a list of the cultish things done in Mormon temples and their reward…

  • Secret Oaths are made at an altar. – Secret
  • Secret Handshakes are done at the altar. – Secret
  • Secret Names are given to every person receiving an endowment, including dead people. – Secret
  • Temple clothing, which includes a green apron, is put on, which signifies the Satanic priesthood. – Secret
  • A veil is put up, of which people have to present a secret handshake, an oath, and their secret name, in order to go through into the celestial room. – Secret
  • Magic Underwear is worn underneath their clothing. – Semi Secretive
  • Baptisms for the dead are performed. – Semi Secretive
  • Anointings are done for people who are alive and are dead. – Secret
  • Endowments are done for people who are alive and are dead. – Secret
  • Sealings are done for married couples and couples who have died. – Semi Secretive

  • The Celestial Kingdom, but only if they continue to do the things above. – Works Salvation

Requirements?

  • 10% tithe.
  • Belief in the Book of Mormon.
  • Belief in the Mormon Prophets.
  • Obeying the Word of Wisdom.
  • Keeping the law of chastity.

All of the above are either kept secret or semi-secret.  The things that are secret are not talked about outside the walls of the temple.  The list above should cause anyone to run away from a cult like this. They should say, “I have had enough and I have seen enough also. Therefore I will find the right path to God”.  In their minds, they may say, “what is up with this magical underwear? And why are we putting on aprons? Didn’t Satan just say to put these on? So why are we doing this like it’s there’s nothing wrong? If it is it just me that I heard him say these aprons are emblems of his priesthood? So again why are we putting these on? This makes me feel weird inside. I wasn’t taught this when missionaries came to my door.  They kept these things from me. Why would they lie to me? I would have never joined the church if I knew all this before. And what about the baptisms for dead people? This is grossing me out. Let me out of here. Here is my temple recommend. I am done with this place. I will find a church that is actually of God.”  This is a true story of many Mormons that leave this cult behind for Jesus.  Amen.

What the Bible says about this:
“But Solomon built him an house. Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? Hath not my hand made all these things? Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.” (Acts 7:47-51)

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. [And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” (Ephesians 5:11,12)

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for the Mormon people. I know that some of them, especially those who are new to it, know about the problems in their temples. These people feel an evil spirit each time they enter in. You have revealed this to me, as thousands of Mormons now know in their hearts that they are in a cult. What they do with this knowledge is different. God, I am truly saddened to see that people leave the Mormon church and become an atheist. This is not any better than what they had before as both paths lead to destruction. But, God, I am so grateful for those few people who leave and also become devout Christians. These people are everywhere, although their numbers are fewer. You have called me out of the midst of Mormonism back in 2012 and I am so much better off now that I found You. Not only have You come into my life, Jesus, but You have saved a wretch like me. There were no changes that took place in my life back when I was part of that cult, but the moment I left it behind for Your sake everything changed. The music I listen to now is about You. The TV I watch is about You. My desire to play video games has ceased. You are my joy, my Lord, and my God. Thank You for Your hand in my life. Your mercy endures forever. Into Your arms, I run to daily for protection. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
