The Jesus in Mormonism is not the same Jesus of the Bible! This is so easy to see when comparing His characteristics in the Bible with what Mormons actually believe. For example, they indoctrinate people into thinking that the Father has a glorified body like unto the Son’s. They even teach children this false teaching at a young age. They have prepared lessons for children that say, “help each child understand that Heavenly Father is a real person, with a perfected body of flesh and bones, and that we are made in his image.” (Heavenly Father Has a Body) This is also taught in their own scriptures, which is outside the Bible, of course. It reads, “the Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.” (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22) What they don’t realize is that they are in disagreement with their own doctrine, stating that the Holy Ghost is Spirit because He dwells in us. I’ll touch on that next.
Out of Jesus’s own mouth came the teaching that the Father is Spirit. “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23,24) How if you are a Spirit, then you don’t have a body of flesh and bones. “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” (Luke 24:39) To make this even more clear, Jesus said that the Father’s Spirit dwells in Him, as the Holy Spirit dwells in us. “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” (John 14:10) Because the Father is Spirit, His Face and much of His presence cannot be seen. This is until we go die and go to heaven. It also means that He is omnipresent and can be in many places at once. This is the true and faithful teaching of the Father. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will open the eyes of the Mormon people. Help them to stop learning anything else in their church if it goes against what the Bible says. May people in this cult be on their guard against heresy and run from it if discovered. I am seeing the opposite happening, as these people seem to enjoy their new man-made teachings even more so than what we read in Your Word, the Bible. The majority of them don’t seem to care that they are teaching things that are contrary to what is true. I can see that they are under a strong delusion, and because of this, they have closed their ears to what Christians share with them. I can see how blind these people really are each time I try to talk to them about You, Jesus. But I know that You are bigger than their hard hearts. Some of these people are Your elect, but the sad thing is, most of them will waste their life away in a cult before finding out they were wrong near the end of their lives. I wish this was not the case, but it is hard to see otherwise. I love You, Lord. May many more of these lost souls be saved. I believe in You, Jesus. Amen.
How can the Mormon Jesus be the Jesus of the Bible if the Mormon Jesus does not have as a Father the Father of the Bible? Does that make sense?
