“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD ; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.” (Isaiah 11:1-3) – About 700–681 B.C.

The King James Version of Isaiah, chapter 11, was copied and pasted into the Book of Mormon. This chapter of Isaiah can be found in 2 Nephi, chapter 21. The book of Isaiah and 2 Nephi are also available to read in the next chapters of this book. Details of what took place can be found below…

Isaiah, chapter 11, speaks of Jesus, who is from the root of Jesse. We learn that the Spirit of the LORD rests upon Him. This Spirit is the Father, or YHWH, which is pronounced Yahweh. When “LORD” is used it speaks of the divinity of God and His very name, which is so sacred. It is written, “and there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD ; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.” (Isaiah 11:1-3) Jesus even says that the Spirit in Him that does the works is the Father. God said, “believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” (John 14:10) As the Father dwells in the Son, this makes Hm Spirit. Jesus became flesh and dwelt among us, not the Father.

Did you notice how I highlighted the word "LORD"? This is because, in the Book of Mormon, the same verses are copied and pasted. However, “LORD” was purposely changed to “Lord”. Cults often do this without thinking. Read for yourself how Joseph Smith, the first false prophet in Mormonism, took Isaiah and changed the meaning of God. It is written, “and there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.” (2 Nephi 21:1-3) There is a reason why Joseph Smith and other people in Mormonism are happy with changing the name “LORD” to “Lord”. They have taken away the divinity of the Father, saying He was once a man. How He became a God like His fathers did before Him. They also believe that the Father has a body of flesh and bones and is not Spirit only. This goes against what Jesus said and taught about the Father’s Spirit dwelling in Him. What will you believe? God or people. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that Your Spirit will become our teacher and not what other people have told us over time. In a world of false religions and false teachers, it can be hard to navigate away from this. Only You can make a way for us and lead us safely home. Because You love us, there is a way out of what is dark and ugly on the inside. Although things may appear as good on the outside, You are able to reveal the truth of what lies inside. This is the case with Mormonism. They appear as if they have it all together. They dress the part and act very religious, but their hearts are still far from You. And because they are so deep into their false doctrines and traditions, trying to lead one of them out of this is like pulling teeth. I have seen so many people who laugh and scoff at me who are Mormons. These people have hearts that are cold to the truth of God. Not only this, but the hardness of their hearts is keeping them from being saved. Lord, I know that each person has a weakness when it comes to letting truth in. They may appear hard-hearted, but when You convict them of what is true and what is false, they can either deny the truth. Use me for the sake of Your kingdom. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
