Joseph Smith Changed The Bible: Revelation 2:22

Let us begin by reading Revelation, chapter 2, verses 18 through 23.  This is important to know what is happening in verses 18 and 22. It is written, “And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.” (Revelation 2:18-23)

Notice the sin of this church and how it has to do with Jezebel and the sin of fornication. Therefore, they have defiled the bed with their sexual immorality. It was an angel sent from God that delivered this message. However, we see a change in the word “angel” and the word “bed” in another supposed translation called the Joseph Smith Translation (JST).  In this corrupted King James Version Bible (KJV), over 3400 verses were changed like unto the words in the verses above. Angel was changed to servant, while bed was changed to hell. See below for those changes…

Revelation 2:18 (KJV)
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

Revelation 2:18 (Joseph Smith Translation)
18 And unto the servant of the church in Thyatira write: “These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass.”

Revelation 2:22 (KJV)
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Revelation 2:22 (Joseph Smith Translation)
22 “Behold I will cast her into hell and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.”

The differences between the verses above are startling. Truly, it removes the wisdom of God and adds man-made thinking in exchange. Angels sent from God are lowered down to a human servant. Our beds are somehow changed to hell, even though most Mormons don’t even believe in a physical hell. How interesting is that? But the worst part is the warning that is present in the Book of Revelation. It says that if someone “adds to” the words of this book, God will add unto them the plagues detailed in this prophesy. This implies that they may suffer in this life because of tribulation, but will for sure suffer come death and hell. As for people that takes away from the words of this book, God will take away their names from the book of life, which they will have no part with the city, New Jerusalem. In the biblical context, those who are saved are in the book of life and will be able to enter freely in “holy city” and partake of its fruits and more. Joseph Smith falls under these plague and judgments from God. Where he will soon be found guilty and thrown into the lake of fire. Find out more in the verse below as it spells out Joseph Smith’s fate…

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:12-15)

  1. Joseph certainly has a pattern of exchanging out angels for ‘servants’. This takes the action out of the realm of heaven and puts it into the hands of men.
