If I have said this once, I will say it again. If a person goes in and changes even one word or sentence in a chapter of the Bible, it changes the entire context. This is so evil, and if a church that we know or attend has done this, even if it was in the past, we should leave it behind immediately. This is because these are the signs of a false prophet. A person who is not led by God but by their flesh instead. One example of a person who has done this to the Bible is Joseph Smith in Mormonism. Not only did he change the KJV Bible with his Joseph Smith Translation, but he did this when he copied and pasted verses from the Bible into the Book of Mormon. In this process, many verses, phrases, and words were changed. For example, we see this in Isaiah, chapter 10. It reads, “11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols? 12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. 13 For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man.” (Isaiah 10:11-13)
Notice the words in bold above, for in the Book of Mormon, these same words and phrases are changed when talking about people who are prideful. The words are changed in the same verses below. “11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and to her idols? 12 Wherefore it shall come to pass that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon Mount Zion and upon Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. 13 For he saith: By the strength of my hand and by my wisdom I have done these things; for I am prudent; and I have moved the borders of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man.” (2 Nephi 20:11-13) The Bible says that by people’s own strength they do things, and by their own wisdom they are prudent or wise. However, the Book of Mormon says differently. Through the strength of their hands and their wisdom, they do things, for they are prudent. This is not the same thing and changes how God felt about these individuals. Now please consider what I have shown you today. Let us now follow Jesus and be willing to give up our sins and even false beliefs for Him. Our belief in Jesus causes us to do the will of the Father and not the will of men. This is unto salvation. Oh Lord, I love and honor You. Thank You for coming into my life and for giving me wisdom. I am not always the best with words. In times past I would stutter and have no control over it. Thankfully all that has been changed since I came to You in faith. In this weakness, You have made me strong. As I was unable to speak to people with boldness and clarity, I am now able to do so with much confidence. If I am bold to speak to people about You, Jesus, You have done the work in my life. I am simply Your vessel, whom You are using for Your kingdom. I give You thanks for having faith and confidence in me, when there are billions of other people You could have chosen. I know that I have a lot to learn still. I have much to grow in the faith as time goes on. My knowledge of Your Words can still be increased as time goes by. I love Your words in the Bible, for in them comes great power from on High. It is a pleasure to introduce You and the Bible to others. Only then can people see You in scripture and know that You are real and still alive. There are millions of false gods out there, but none of them can speak to us but You. Holy, holy, is the Lord, God, Almighty. I give You the highest praise! Lead me safely home, Jesus. Help me fight the good fight in the faith and not give into temptation. I love You more, Jesus. You are my God, and I worship You. Amen.
