A teaching from the Book of Mormon that Christians should thrive on when witnessing to Mormons comes from Moroni, chapter 8. This is where a specific verse makes it crystal clear that God has always been God and has never changed. He was not once a human before becoming God, but from all eternity He was and is God. It reads, “for I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.” (Moroni 8:18) This is a teaching that Christians agree with, but Mormons do not. How interesting that they say the Book of Mormon is the most correct book but still do not care for or believe in many of the teachings therein. Even the author of this book, Joseph Smith, went against what he wrote in this book and then taught the exact opposite. He said, “I will go back to the beginning before the world was, to show what kind of being God is. What sort of a being was God in the beginning? Open your ears and hear, all ye ends of the earth, for I am going to prove it to you by the Bible, and to tell you the designs of God in relation to the human race, and why He interferes with the affairs of man. God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!” (The King Follett Discourse)
Exaltation for people to Godhood is not what the Book of Mormon teaches, nor what the Bible teaches also. Therefore, Mormons should run from this false doctrine and their cult. The one true God of the heavens has spoken and said, “thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.” (Isaiah 44:6-8) To be called the first and the last means that there was no Gods before Him, nor will there be Gods after Him. This puts a wrench upon the false teachings of Mormons being exalted to Godhood. And to help you get this teaching that God has always been God, Jesus also said this about Himself. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” (Revelation 22:13) The one true God knows of no other Gods and if He knows of no other Gods, then people can never reach Godhood. Let this sink in, for it is God’s truth. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will use many more people to help open the eyes of people in Mormonism. Although their hearts are hard now, through the Holy Spirit in us many more people’s hearts will soften. This life is short and people who are Your witnesses now will soon leave this earth and go to heaven. Therefore, raise up people to go after these valiant men and women in the faith. Help them gain an even bigger insight into the cultish teachings in Mormonism and also help many of them come to know the truth. I love the Mormon people so much as to do whatever I can to lead them out of the fire. Do I know how much more time I have on this earth? No. Surely, You can take me at any time, God. All I ask is that good content from past evangelists and teachers will remain on the web for us to use. Thank You for being our hands and feet, God. I trust in You above all else. Thank You for leading me to people and resources online that have helped me immensely when it comes to my faith in You. This has motivated me to tell people about You, Jesus. Not just things that I feel are true, but what Your Words in the Bible actually say. This is important to me, to always be teaching from the Bible and not from myself. I lift You up and Your holy, holy, holy Bible. I love You, Jesus. You deserve the glory and praise. You are my rock and the pillar of my faith. Amen.
