On this Utah mission trip, I will be staying in Ogden Utah. It was on the drive up that I decided to make a few calls. One was of course to my wife and my two daughters, but then I decided to call a few missionaries. I had four and a half hours of driving, and talking on the phone can really make the time go by faster. So I called a missionary friend on Facebook and he answered. Upon answering the phone call, he also got a former missionary on the line with him. We then proceeded to talk for the next hour and a half. A few things we talked about were temples, priesthood, the trinity, baptisms for the dead, and more. How we are the temple of the living God and that God does not dwell in temples made with hands. How Jesus is the last high priest and holds the priesthood now, not man. That the Father is Spirit and an invisible God. We ought to worship Him in Spirit. There are three persons, the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They consist of one God. Even the book of Mormon teaches that they are one God.
When it comes to baptisms for the dead, I brought them to Revelation, chapters 21 and 22. “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:7,8) These people go to the lake of fire, there are no second chances or pulling people out of the fire with baptisms for the dead. Changing what the Bible says in Revelation with baptisms for the dead is so evil. Mormons tell people that those who are liars, murderers, idolaters, and sexually immoral, will be spared from the lake of fire. This means that people’s names in this cult are now removed from the book of life. Although they can be added back if they left what is false for Christ. Telling people that people can escape hell and go to heaven is very serious. Therefore, they need to repent!
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for protecting me and Patrick on our rides to Utah today. His plane arrived in Utah as expected and my car had no issues. Thank You also for the people I spoke with over the phone during my drive up. I talked with several missionaries over the phone and it was only through the Holy Spirit that I was able to speak Your truth in a way that was convicting. Truly, only through the power of God can I do anything good in this world, especially when trying to lead someone to You. My own words mean nothing if I am following my own feelings and doing my own things. Lord, Help me to know how to properly witness to different individuals, for I know that everyone is different and will receive the truth in their own way. As for the people I spoke with today, it went as well as it could get. My time with Patrick, this evening, was also amazing. He is a wonderful friend and brother in Christ. Help me to remember the things we talked about when it comes to reaching the lost. I love You, Lord. Amen.
