“And assuredly, as the Lord liveth, for the Lord God hath spoken it, and it is his eternal word, which cannot pass away, that they who are righteous shall be righteous still, and they who are filthy shall be filthy still; wherefore, they who are filthy are the devil and his angels; and they shall go away into everlasting fire, prepared for them; and their torment is as a lake of fire and brimstone, whose flame ascendeth up forever and ever and has no end.” (2 Nephi 9:16) – About 559–545 B.C.

Verses from the King James Version of Matthew, chapter 25, and Revelation, chapters 14, 20, and 22, were copied and pasted into the Book of Mormon. These verses can be found in 2 Nephi, chapter 9. Details of what took place can be found below…

If there is a smoking gun for the Book of Mormon being false, it comes from 2 Nephi, chapter 9. It is written, “and assuredly, as the Lord liveth, for the Lord God hath spoken it, and it is his eternal word, which cannot pass away, that they who are righteous shall be righteous still, and they who are filthy shall be filthy still; wherefore, they who are filthy are the devil and his angels; and they shall go away into everlasting fire, prepared for them; and their torment is as a lake of fire and brimstone, whose flame ascendeth up forever and ever and has no end.” (2 Nephi 9:16) This one verse is a ripoff of four different verses in the New Testament portion of the Bible. Joseph Smith combined a verse in Matthew with three additional verses from Revelation to make his once verse in the Book of Mormon. Parts of that verse are bolded, of which we will use to compare with the following verses from the Bible…

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41)

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14:11)

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10)

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” (Revelation 22:11)

So we see that Joseph Smith believed in the lake of fire early on. Where the wicked would be cast there and be tormented day and night. Even the smoke of their torment would ascend up into heaven forever and ever. Although this is Biblical and sounds good in this one verse in 2 Nephi, chapter 9, it is also plagiarism. This chapter in the Book of Mormon was supposedly written around 559-545 B.C. Which is long before Jesus ever came to earth. Therefore, Joseph Smith tried to make his book sound like the Bible by including references to the New Testament, but failed miserably. This con man has been apprehended in the act. Beware of placing your trust in Joseph Smith. He is a false prophet. Lastly, the Book of Mormon teaches about an eternal lake of fire for the wicked, which the Mormon church doesn't subscribe to. But why does their belief system go against their own book’s teachings? Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will be careful reading any book that is a plagiarism of another book. You've enlightened me to know that if books fail to cite the original authors, we should promptly cease reading them. Lord, I express my heartfelt gratitude for Your wise counsel. But now I ask every person who is part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to stop reading the Book of Mormon. It is obvious that Joseph Smith plagiarized the Bible with his own book. Looking at 2 Nephi, chapter 9, it is obvious what he was trying to do. It was clear that he knew of certain verses in the Bible and also agreed with these verses. Unfortunately, God, he didn’t give authorship to You in Matthew and in Revelation. Instead, a fictional character named Jacob is said to have said these things. Lord, wake up the Mormon people to repentance, and lead them to remove the Book of Mormon from their lives. I believe in You, Jesus. Help them know what I’ve said is true. This cult needs to be exposed, lest people die in their sins. I love You, Lord. I trust in You. Amen.
